Affirmation: when I need a kick in the ass.
No one is coming to take away your problems or carry them for you.
Your husband will come the second you call, but that's minutes, maybe hours, depending on where he is.
Dad will come when he can get there.
The police will come once they figure out where you are, what the issue is, and who's available.
The person standing right next to you might help, if it's convenient enough for them.
But what about when I need help now? This second. Now.
Who's the only person you can depend on 100% of the time, within a split second? You. It's always you. It's only you.
Remember that when you don't want to go to the gym. When you don't want to fill the gas tank tonight. When you want one more drink. When you skip eating all day. When you don't want to plan ahead.
You and your kids are depending on you. Not maybe-you. Not eventually-you. You, right now, ready.
It's always you. It's only you.
